Apple is officially entering the foldable smartphone market.
More than seven years after Samsung debuted the first Galaxy Fold, Apple announced the iPhone Duo, a book-style foldable built for multitasking, productivity, and media consumption.
The device has a 5.4-inch outer display that unfolds into a 7.6-inch screen, the largest ever on an iPhone.
The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 and features a titanium frame, Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, a fingerprint scanner built into the side button instead of Face ID, and an under-display selfie camera on the inner screen.
It will be available in white and blue, with preorders beginning Oct. 16 ahead of its Oct. 23 release.
